PROTECT PART SEVEN
We're back on Calamata Island, but not in the way that we expected. Now Paige and I have added to our demon problem by winding up in the middle of an archangel political battle. Benjamin’s brothers are questioning his ability to lead, and are eager to replace him in light of his recent entanglements. Archangels aren’t supposed to fall in love, especially with someone who is destined to destroy them all.
Benjamin is the keeper of the relic that we seek. Despite how he feels about Paige, there’s no way Benjamin's handing it over. I hope that if we help Benjamin maintain control of the archangels and the island, Benjamin will reconsider his position to help us.
Benjamin refuses to trust anyone but Paige, so I have to step aside and allow Paige to work with Benjamin to retrieve the relic. In the meantime, it's up to me to assist the other archangels in resolving an old problem related to the mythology of Calamata Island. But somehow I've ended up in a worse situation than before and the tables are turned. This time, I might need Paige to save me.
PROTECT PART EIGHT
Bruno Proctor is always one step ahead of us. Now I’m in Hell and Paige is alone with him on the other side of the portal. I have to find a way to get back to her.
Benjamin did a number on me when he stabbed me in the caves, and now it’s taking everything I have to stay focused and in the game. It does seems suspicious when Paige is returned to me, and it doesn’t help that my mother has planted a seed of doubt about our relationship.
We should be able to work anything out if we’re together. But fate seems to have other plans for us; something I never saw coming. It’s the beginning of a whole new chapter.
Bruno and Benjamin both better be ready. Because this twist is the biggest gamechanger of them all.
PROTECT PART NINE
I made a blind deal because I felt like I had no choice. Everything has changed now, and I need to know what’s going to happen next. The ones who have the answers are the ones I trust the least. I have Paige by my side, but she’s hiding a secret from me too.
The angels brought us somewhere that they swear is safe. They told me we’ll have time to rest and plan, which God knows Paige and I both need. I’m not sure how many more surprises I can take before I explode. I plan to take full advantage of this breather to give Paige the first date that she always wanted. Those small but important things remind me of what it felt like to be human.
So, of course, fate decides to throw me another curveball in the form of someone from my past. And the meantime, we still have a Goddess, a demon official, and half of the archangel council on our asses. There is no such place as a "safe place" for us anymore.
This is starting to become just another day at the office.
