Description

Ryan, the new captain of the Chicago Devils, struggles to navigate the complexities of leadership both on and off the court. Tasked with bringing the team together and claiming victory, he finds himself constantly sidetracked by the alluring presence of a woman who has captured his attention. Her charm is undeniable, yet Ryan is acutely aware that any distraction could jeopardize his focus and the team’s performance.

As the season progresses, the lines between his professional ambitions and personal desires begin to blur. Ryan grapples with his attraction, torn between the commitment he owes to his teammates and the magnetic pull he feels towards her. When moments of vulnerability arise, he realizes that defending the court is not the only battle he faces; the heart can be just as formidable an opponent.

In a world of high stakes and palpable tension, the choice becomes clear: he must either suppress his feelings or risk unraveling everything he has worked so hard to build. With each game, the pressure mounts, and Ryan must make the right move—not just in the game of basketball, but in the game of love as well.

As passions ignite and loyalties are tested, he learns that sometimes the greatest victories happen off the court. Will Ryan embrace his feelings and find balance, or will he let opportunity slip through his fingers, all while the clock ticks down?

I adored this book. I read the whole thing with a smile on my face. The relationship between the main characters build up gradually and we get to see snippets of our couple in the past book.

This is an emotional and highly addictive sports romance, packed with chemistry, love, and above all personal growth. I adored the protagonists from the very first moment, and their journey kept me hooked the entire time. I simply couldn’t put this book down! Ryan and Indy’s relationship is beautifully developed, making every interaction feel real and heartfelt. This book is exactly the kind of romance I love to read, and it reaffirms my decision to continue the Windy City series until the very end. Also, once again, male protagonists written by women are simply the best!
