The stark contrasts between her urban existence and the rugged landscapes force her to confront unresolved feelings and long-held grievances. As Calla navigates the challenges of her father’s remote world, she discovers more than just a parent; she unearths the strength within herself and the meaning of family bonds.

The journey is not just physical but emotional, pushing Calla to reflect on her past and the choices that have shaped her. With every encounter and obstacle, she learns valuable lessons about love, acceptance, and what it means to truly live. As she immerses herself in the natural beauty around her, Calla grapples with her identity and the complicated relationship that has kept her from her roots.

The Simple Wild is the first novel in the Wild series by K.A. Tucker. I was hooked from the verry beginning where we meet Calla, who embarks on a journey to reconnect with her ill estranged father. Upon her arrival we meet Jonah, the enigmatic and rugged Alaskan pilot. Calla and Jonah hilarious banter and his disdain for Calla's city-girl ways brings humour into their evolving relationship. Callas journey serves as a transformative experience as she is forced to confront her strained relationship with her father while navigating her budding feelings for Jonah. I loved how Tucker beautifully explores themes of family, forgiveness, and personal growth. I look forward to reading Tuckers continuation of Callas story.
