View AllI’m not good at reviews. My husband came home after a couple hours being away. When he left I was in a pretty decent mood. He came back and I was horribly grumpy. So he was trying to figure out why I was so grumpy. Even I didn’t know. Then I got to thinking. I was reading this book the whole time. It’s just one thing after another that happens to the FMC. She never catches a break. I LOVED the ritual. I didn’t have any triggers for this book. But, it was a rough read. I guess she just had so many things happen to her and the MMC did the same exact things to her but it was okay, because it was him doing it? I just didn’t feel the connection between them. I did end up Liking him by the end of it. But not my book boyfriend by any means. First 250 pages was all one constant smut and not enough plot for me. Reading the sacrifice now and I love that one.
I loved this book and the story line was amazing. Elli’s story is heart wrenching. Shantell has a special way of writing that makes you feel like you are living the stories along side the characters and it absolutely sucks you in. All of the twists and turns in this book kept me on my toes. I thought I knew what was happening and then I’d be confused again. I love it!!! I still think that Ryat is my favorite (Just don’t tell Sin that lol)
