View AllI really enjoyed the story and the characters all around. I will say that the Main Character bothered me at the start of the book because she felt very naive and oblivious to things going on around her but then again when you're a bookworm to that level that does tend to happen. this book really is a very wholesome romcom almost kind of like a Hallmark movie but done better. I really liked the small town feel that was being portrayed and I definitely loved the cottage core style with the descriptions of the town and also the house that she lived in. my favorite character so far was the spider plant Caz and his little companion I thought it was absolutely adorable. I would definitely recommend this one for people who want to have a wholesome romance fantasy story that doesn't really have a lot of spice but it's really not about the spice level it's more about the story and how the community just comes together.
I normally don't pick up fantasy books, but this is one of the BEST fantasy read i have ever read. I love every single bit, from beginning to the end. I love the character growth and the love between friendships and relationships. I must read more fantasy reads just like this. If I had the ability to get brainwashed and pick up a book to read again, it would be this.
Listened to the audio and it started off well but then kind of plateaued. It had a cozy vibe to it and the characters were likeable enough. I especially liked the cactus 🌵. I would have liked a little more action and anticipation but that's cozy for you.
