Okay, so I just finished watching the show, I haven’t read the book, and I have some things to say…First, Isabel is …well, she’s a likeable character, season one pretty much just flows, and I don’t have much to say about it. As I start season 2, I have so many things to say because Isabel is with Cameron first, then with Conrad, and later with Jeremiah, which makes me feel a bit…but okay, no judgements became she was just trying to follow her heart. Conrad was the one she loved, but she kept getting confused about which brother to choose after Cameron was out of the picture, and she chose Jeremiah, because somehow Jeremiah was always there for her, I get it, but Conrad is the silent, i’ll show you my love silently type of boy, he even convinces her mother to attend jere and belly’s wedding, even though she was upset about it. Season 3 is annoying, but at the same time intriguing, because the way Conrad acted in the last few episodes was just swooning? The way he said, “hey, i’ll always be the boy who taught you how to ride a bike! ” okay, boy, we know you love her a lot. The biggest red flag i’d say is the fact that jere cheated on belly, that is cheating, even if they had a small fight, he can’t just cheat, because he thought they were over. That does not even make sense. And belly forgives him, and don’t even get me started on the manu arguments belly and jere have, while she plans the wedding by herself. He’s busy convincing his dad that he is competent, and reliable, proving himself, while belly plans the whole thing by herself. That was a bit off putting. Because I know Conrad would have never let belly do shit by herself. Especially when she clearly needed help. He sees her crying alone on the bed, and then goes on trying to convince Laurel to attend the wedding. The laughable thing is that when belly and jere announce that they are getting married, dead silence follows, and then chaos. “you both are not ready for this! ” yeah, Laurel knows what the fuck is going on, and what belly deserves. It was so hard to watch those episodes where jere gets angry at belly for something that is not in her control, or something that goes wrong in his life. But I enjoyed belly and Conrad’s reunion, that was good. And the pause at the lines, “i dreamt of this. You. ” yes, Conrad, your belly is finally yours, after all the chaos and distance that was supposed to bring you two together. That said, I enjoyed the series, but not too much. So, just giving two stars.
