Description
Thrill of the chase
He unlocked the door, then slowly pushed it open.
He stood frozen to the spot, cloaked in darkness. He longed to turn and run. His whole body was bathed in perspiration. "Go back," the small, persistent voice inside his head warned.
He knew he would not.
It was then he felt the presence. The air in the room changed. It became stifling, thick with a foul odour. The walls pulsated. Up from the floor rose a thunderous pounding: the hideous over-amplified beating of a heart.
He knew only the all-encompassing yearning.
The longing to kill.
