In the throes of a mid-life crisis, 40-something father Adam moves his family from the stresses of London life to a remote French farmhouse. Awaiting the arrival of his wife and daughter, Adam endures the idiosyncrasies of an old house with his father, who suffers from dementia, and his son, a victim of bullying.

But when a storm leaves them isolated from the small, rural community, Adam's hope for blissful isolation turns to terror. The house is not what he thought it was, and the longer they spend within its walls, the further things seem to drift from reality.
