View AllI was not prepared for this book! It was pretty graphic with the violence and the spiciness. I don’t mind some spiciness in a book, but I really feel like this one would have been better with less. The concept of the world and the game was so intriguing but got lost in all the smut and crude dialogue. While I liked the MCs and the banter between them, I was disappointed to not have more of the actual scavenger hunt like game and riddles. I was so excited when I heard this was a standalone fantasy novel and didn’t realize it spun off of a previous trilogy until later in the read. There were several times I felt like I was missing something with the way information was given. Things were talked about as if the reader already knows the history of the world. It made reveals seem choppy. Parts of the plot felt disconnected, like things were just being added in as the author went, especially regarding Camilla. The first quarter of the book seems like an entirely different story than the rest of it. It didn’t flow well for me. So while reading the others may not be necessary, it may make this one feel smoother?I did like the surprise of some of the reveals in the end and how it all finally tied together. This book ends well for our MCs and I know their story has concluded but there were several loose ends in the world altogether and it definitely points to other stories following the other brothers. I did love the glimpses we got of the other brothers and their courts enough to want to know more about them, but am unsure whether I’d read them yet. Overall, this one was fine, but I want more depth to the plot than spice.
3.25 ⭐️honestly, I was a little lost while reading this. I couldn't imagine the story well but after a while, i managed to grasp onto my imagination and see (in my head) how the story was going.it took me long to read it and I think that's my fault for reading back-to-back 500+ pages book but im glad I finished it. don't make the same mistake as I did
Throne of the Fallen⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I was absolutely swept away by Throne of the Fallen. From the moment I met the Prince of Envy, I was hooked. He’s the perfect mix of sin and charm—dangerous, calculating, and entirely unapologetic about it. Watching him navigate a deadly game to save his court was thrilling, especially when Camilla Antonius entered the picture.Camilla is everything I love in a heroine. She starts as this virtuous, seemingly proper artist, but as the story unfolds, you see the fire and complexity beneath her composed exterior. The banter between her and Envy is sharp and deliciously tense, and every interaction crackled with chemistry. Their relationship is a slow burn that had me rooting for them with every page, even as they tried to deny what was growing between them. The world-building was absolutely stunning. Traveling through the Underworld with Envy and Camilla—from dazzling demon courts to the sultry vampire realm—felt immersive and magical. Every setting was richly described, pulling me deeper into their perilous journey. The twists kept me on my toes, and just when I thought I knew what to expect, Harrow threw in another curveball. What I loved most was the way Camilla and Envy challenged each other. She forces him to confront emotions he’s long buried, while he pushes her to embrace her true nature. Their growth, both individually and as a pair, was so satisfying to watch. If you love dark, seductive fantasy with morally gray characters, riddles, and forbidden romance, Throne of the Fallen will absolutely enchant you. It’s one of those books that lingers in your mind long after you’ve finished it.
