Description

Mara, a dedicated scientist, finds herself in an unexpected and frustrating situation when her work nemesis, the infuriatingly attractive and charming colleague, ends up as her new roommate. Their relationship has always been marked by rivalry and tension, but sharing a living space brings the intensity to a whole new level. Struggling with her feelings and the undeniable chemistry between them, Mara must navigate both her scientific commitments and her tumultuous emotions.

As they contend with late-night experiments and heated arguments, Mara begins to see a different side of her adversary. Amidst the chaos, laughter, and occasional sparks, she grapples with the possibility that love might just be lurking beneath their competitive banter. Set against the backdrop of a bustling research environment, this story explores themes of passion, ambition, and the fine line between love and rivalry, making readers question whether opposites really do attract.

Mara inherits 50% of her mentors house after she passes, the other 50% is owned by Liam. Liam doesn’t want a roommate. Offers to pay her for her half. Mara isn’t having that. As she is about to start a new job, has a ton of student debt and this is close to her new job and rent free for her. Tensions are high, until at very late night talk, and slowly Liam and Mara become closer, eating together and watching the bachelorette. Then Mara gets a job promotion, which she agreed to move out of she got. But neither of them want that at this point. Both have feelings now, they’ve grown to like each other and the last couple chapters really surprised me as it got slightly smutty and really didn’t expect it much honestly. Although there were signs, he heard what she told her friends and saw her in the shower. But it definitely made it known that they wanted to stay roommates, after that. Definitely not a pity f*ckA great read, and quick! Would recommend!
