Can't describe how much I liked this book, finished it in one session, made me tear up by how emotional the end was. Highly recommend!

Of Mice and Men is a quiet, slow-moving book that explores themes like isolation, broken dreams, and the limits of kindness. The writing is plain and direct, and the atmosphere is heavy throughout — but for me, it just didn’t leave a strong emotional impact.The characters felt real, and I understood what Steinbeck was trying to say, but the story felt too subdued. It’s the kind of book that relies more on mood and message than plot or character depth, and that left me feeling a bit disconnected. I kept waiting for it to “hit,” but it never really did.I can respect its place as a classic, but overall, it didn’t resonate with me the way I hoped it would.

The ending was rushed but other than that it was a good book

Had to read this for high school. I remember liking the structure very much, as well as the way the characters were written.
