Description

In the quiet hours of late October, Jen finds herself anxiously waiting at the window, her heart heavy with worry for her eighteen-year-old son. The clock ticks past midnight, each chime an unsettling reminder of his tardiness. The weight of the night presses down on her, filled with unspoken fears and the unshakeable bond of motherhood. As she gazes out into the darkness, memories of his childhood flood her mind, mixed with the uncertainty of his transition into adulthood.

Meanwhile, the outside world seems indifferent to her growing anxiety. The leaves rustle in the chill of the night, creating an atmosphere thick with tension. Jen's thoughts spiral as she contemplates the choices he might be making and the dangers that lurk in the shadows. This moment serves as a poignant reflection on the fragility of trust, the complexities of youth, and the unbreakable threads that tie a mother to her child.

Time travel mystery? Yes please. The first part of this book was a slow start for me but it was really hard to put down through the end. I liked the surprise reveals that I was not exepcting. There were some really beautiful reflective moments the main character had looking back on her marriage and motherhood.
