Her ninth collection of poems, perhaps her darkest - 'the true story is vicious/ and multiple and untrue/ after all' - and the poems often contradict the implicit ideas inthe title - 'Christmas Carols' begins 'Children do not always mean/ hope. To some they mean despair.' Originally issued as a trade paperback in Canada in 1981, and only issued in wrappers in the UK also. SIGNED on the title page.
