I quite liked this bit of time-travel. Mainly for the fact that there were other time-travellers and people with magic. I also liked that the FMC gave real thought to what it meant to stay in the past. War, disease, shorter life span, and no rights. I always found it difficult to believe a woman would choose to live in the past, where she had little to no rights, risk dying at childbirth, and no vaccinations to keep her children from dying of "Childhood diseases." And other things we take for granted in this modern world. So I appreciated that...even though she didn't have any way to go back to her time. She gave the consequences at least a little thought if the chance to go home ever did show itself. I loved Darcy. He was a giant, lovable, softhearted man. Loyal and honorable to a fault.
