Simplesmente sem palavras pra esse livro. É incrível a maneira em que você se sente na vida do personagem, muito bem escrito, muito bem feito e com certeza esse é o meu livro favorito da vida. Eu comecei a ler livros por conta desse desse livro. Perfeito.
O que foi esse livro? Novamente a Freida me enganou.
I really liked it. I understood why one of the characters was the way she was at the beginning but the way she used the other character to just do that is just... yeah. But it was pretty gruesome at some parts but apart from that, I like it.
I needed something else after reading ACOTAR and Say You Swear and I hear a lot of this book and I love myself some thrillers! AND THIS BOOK DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I haven’t finished a book this quick in quite some time and I absolutely do not regret reading it. It started off amazing and it kept getting better. This book was an amazing page turner as I literally could not put it away. This was the kind of book that every time you finish a chapter you want to start the next right away. The suspense building was amazing and from the first chapter you know something isn’t right but won’t find out until the end of the book what it is. And that is how you keep my attention. Also the fact that it was a thriller but I couldn’t guess the plot was great. Because mostly I normally know exactly what is going on! I am really looking forward to start the next book!
The Housemaid is an entertaining and fast-paced read that’s perfect for getting out of a reading slump. The short chapters make it incredibly easy to read, and the story keeps you engaged from start to finish. While I found the plot somewhat predictable and the resolution a bit too quick, the overall story is still solid and enjoyable. It’s a great choice if you’re not a regular thriller reader and want something gripping without being too heavy.
read after seeing the movie 3x... still enjoyed reading it and seeing all the differences from movie to book
This is technically my first thriller! I was excited to get into Freida's books, as I often hear the plot twists and mystery of her books are top tier. Unfortunately, I guessed the plot twist before the ending of part 1 which made the rest of the story a little flat as I wasn't surprised. Overall it was an interesting, quick read, and will give another of her books a go in the future.
Thank you netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this arc honestly. Wow. Wow. Wow. Could not put this one down. I keep seeing Freida McFadden as a must read author in my book groups and I always add them to my tbr (but I'm sure you all know how that is, it's a massive list) and I don't get to them. Well I'm glad I started with this one. Loved this book. The writing was well done, story was good, easy to follow and just flow right through it. There are a few trigger warnings possibly (dv for example) but I felt, for the topic, it was well done. It was used mostly to show a certain psychological behavior and not actually glorify it or make it too graphic, so well done. Great psychological thriller, and a must read!
The Housemaid is a chilling, unputdownable psychological thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The tension is perfectly paced, with layers of manipulation, deceit, and psychological games that make every chapter feel like a trap you can’t escape. The characters are complex and morally gray, especially the dynamic between Nina and Andy, which is as fascinating as it is disturbing. The writing is sharp, immersive, and vivid—every scene is crafted to maximize suspense. If you love psychological thrillers that linger in your mind long after the last page, this book is an absolute must-read
⤷ Rating: ★★★★☆.5OMG this book has been in my mind every time I got the chance to think and I don’t know how to rate at all but here we are.If I had the chance to name this book again, it will be “Just not yet.” it is the perfect title for it.────୨ৎ────⟡
