Description

Four time-traveling history students from Oxford embark on a thrilling journey to 1940s England, each focusing on a unique angle of World War II. Their mission is to immerse themselves in the past, gathering firsthand experiences to enhance their understanding of history. The intricacies of time travel add layers of excitement and complexity to their quest, presenting challenges they could not have anticipated.

As the students navigate the tumultuous backdrop of wartime Britain, they find themselves embroiled in events that test their resolve and ethics. Their distinct assignments lead them into the heart of bustling London and through the trials faced by ordinary citizens during the Blitz, revealing the resilience and bravery of those living through such uncertain times.

The narrative not only explores the historical context but also delves into the characters' personal dilemmas and the unforeseen consequences of their actions across time. Each student's journey contributes to a larger tapestry of sacrifice, courage, and the ever-blurring line between past and present, creating an emotionally engaging tale that resonates with the weight of history.

Loved it loved it loved it. Did I save I loved it?Time travel and WWII. Fab-u-lous. It had me gripped right from the outset. The scenes set in WWII brought the whole era and events to life. Clearly a lot of research had gone into the era particularly in terms of how people behaved. The Blitz was not a period I had learnt about in much detail but it vividly brought to life what it was like for people in London especially.Shame that book itself had no real ending instead runs straight to the next book [b:All Clear (All Clear, #2)|7519231|All Clear (All Clear, #2) (Oxford Time Travel, #4)|Connie Willis|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1320549311s/7519231.jpg|9735628]which I am downloading immediately!
