Description

In a future where society has become defined by its rigid structures, a young girl named Kira faces the harsh realities of her existence. With a physical disability that marks her as weaker than most, her survival relies on her unique gift for weaving, which she uses to craft vibrant tapestries that tell the stories of her world. As she grapples with her place in a society that values strength over creativity, Kira's journey sparks a profound exploration of resilience and the power of art.

Kira's life takes a pivotal turn when she is summoned to a council that governs the community. Rather than face the grim fate that awaits the vulnerable, she discovers that her abilities can lead to new opportunities. However, the world she enters is filled with secrets, and her art becomes not just a means of expression, but a tool for uncovering hidden truths about the past and the society in which she lives.

Through her quest for meaning, Kira encounters allies and adversaries, each with their own stories and motivations. As she learns to navigate the complexities of her environment, she begins to challenge the standards imposed upon her, embracing her voice in a world that often silences the weak. Ultimately, her journey of self-discovery serves as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of creative expression in shaping one's destiny.

I don't remember too much about reading this book. I vaguely remember a few small details. One thing I do definitely remember is that I did enjoy reading the book as always when it comes down to Lois Lowry.
