View AllThis book was predictable and, I've saw movies with the same storyline
As a Huang fan, I found this to be a little disappointing. I LOVE her twisted series and LIKE her Kings of Sin series. But this didn’t live up to the hype of her other books. I don’t know if it’s because this is the first book she published or if it’s because I’ve read all the series in the wrong order, but it just didn’t have the same romance feel as her other books. Though it started off good, it just sort of got boring towards the middle and the end where it felt like you wasn’t really getting to know the characters and everything was just happening so briefly. Too briefly, for my liking. And then…one of the worst tropes I hate in a book happened. Blake being duped into thinking the baby was his only to find out in the next book that it wasn’t years after the miscarriage when Cleo wasn’t so selfish…yeah, let’s just say I stay away from those types of books for a reason. And no hate to Huang, cause I really do love her books, but this is nowhere near as good as her other series. It just didn’t do it for me, at all, which makes me really sad. :(
