Nona the Ninth

I really don't know what to feel about this series. I can understand why people like it, because it's unique and very intense. But I cannot say this is a story for me. I don't like the characters, there's a lot of confusion in the way the story is told, and the world building feels haphazard. So many important plot facts are explained offhandedly in dialogue and without context.

Nona was a wild ride. I am someone who likes to read before bed, and this book is not really one that you can read tiered there is a lot going on - and in true locked tomb fashion, people have more than one name and undercovernames, and it can get quite confusing. theres alot of plot crisscrossing here and people being dead and not dead and showing up in memories. That means you do need to concentrate pretty much on the whole bookit was great getting a peak into Johns history a bit more and seeing how it all truly came to be. there were some surprising insights and one or two red herrings thrown about toowe also get to see a new world - and a new style of life where blood of eden is included. it does mean you are kinda learning yet another power struggle that was only really hinted in the last book (again you need to be concentrating) but its great to see all of this happening with out sweet sweet Nona in the middle of it I did really enjoy the main puzzle presented in this one and the constant question about what really happened at the end of the last and even before that that led to the events here. There are so many little details to pull together to solve the mystery and it doesnt try to over explain it to you once ots revealyed which is always something I really like in a book - it aknowledges it enough that if you havent realised yet you will then realise and can move onit is a dense book much like the last but was really enjoyable for me - it also now has my all-time fav like "Get in line - thou big slut" - just fantastic
