7/10 ⭐️Дуже лайтова оповідь. Особисто мені сподобалось. Хочеться одразу сказати усім своїм близьким і рідним, наскільки вони мені цінні. Не "скляна" книжка, як я думав. Але однозначно не найгірша, що мені приходилось читати.Твердий середнячок
It was okay. But the there were scenes that actually made me sad
3.5 starsMaybe it's better to have gotten it right and been happy for one day instead of living a lifetime of wrongs. They both Die at the End is my very first Adam Silvera books and I really liked it. The concept was interesting. Essentially, it follows two boys Mateo and Rufus where they both find out that they're going to die on that day by Deathcast and so they join the Last friend App and eventually they find each other. The relationship between Mateo and Rufus was amazing, I loved it so much. I also love the diversity of these two characters. Mateo is gay and Rufus is bisexual and their character development is just so lovely, I love these two so much. The writing style was grippig and I loved how Silvera wrote in a way which portrayed so much emotion within the characters. The only aspect that bothered me was the insight of the side characters. The only made the the book a bit more slow-paced, I did like the POV's of the Pluto boys but the rest didn't do much for me. To be completely honest, I think I have a heart as cold as stone, but I didn't cry.... not one tear drop. Yes, it was heart-wrenching but there were no tears. The ending was so abrupt, but I do kind of know the idea of what the ending was going to be without it being fully told. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and everything about it was beautiful. I'm looking forward to reading more of Adam Silvera books.
sinceramente não esperava que eu ia me conectar desse jeito após reler esse livro de novo. desde a primeira vez que eu li lá em 2022 se tornou um dos meus favoritos e agora, 4 anos depois, eu relembrei o motivo desse livro ser um dos meus favoritos da vida. é aquele tipo de livro que te dá vários tapas na cara e te faz enxergar a vida de uma maneira completamente diferente, o Adam Silvera sabia exatamente o que tava fazendo quando escreveu esse livro.\nChorei de novo? com certeza absoluta. Meus meninos Mateo e Rufus sempre estarão no meu coração. 🥺💙
Dit is zo'n geval waar de cover en de titel beter is dan het verhaal zelf. Ik had hoge verwachtingen en die werden niet fulfilled. De eerste paar en laatste paar hoofdstukken waren goed, de rest was een beetje overbodig. Het was niet slecht, gewoon niet wat ik had gehoopt.

I cried during class.... but I liked how this book sort of accepted and faced death while also celebrating life.Loved the gay romance sub-plot too!
A lot of people told me this book was supposed to be heartbreaking to read. I would say it was sad but it didn't have me sobbing in the floor. I really like the plot of the book. I love the whole modern dystopian vibe. However, around the middle of the book I kinda felt like it was dragging a bit and that the pacing was slightly off. I absolutely love the concept of the book but the execution maybe could've done with some more adjustments. There were plot holes. What bugged me most is that the whole point of the book is about Death Cast yet its history wasn't explored at all!? I think there was one or two sentences at the beginning along the lines of "nobody knows how death cast works" yet nobody questions it at all!? There are so may questions left unanswered. How does Death Cast know who's going to die? How is it always so accurate? I just wish it went into more detail. The writing itself was good. I liked the two main characters POVs but it got kinda dicey when the random third person POVs were introduced. Mateo and Rufus are mentioned in passing in these POVs as "the two boys" but they didn't really add any additional insight (until the last POV) and to be honest I don't think the overall story would've been affected drastically if they hadn't been included. I like the friendship aspect of Mateo and Rufus' relationship. Once Mateo let loose a little they were bouncing off of each other and the chemistry was there. However, I wasn't a fan of how the romance was executed. It was mostly insta-love which I'm not a fan of. Obviously due to the plot, there wasn't really an opportunity for a slow burn romance but I think that that trope would've suited their relationship more. I honestly would have preferred it if the romance (with it being insta-love) wasn't there and they both just had the amazing chemistry that they had as friends. The ending was a bit meh. Obviously, the title was true to its word. But it all happened so abruptly and it felt kinda open-ended. With one of the main characters, we don't get a description of his death (sounds kinda morbid but you know what I mean) because obviously, he died. The way he died was implied but unless you were paying really close attention and can put the pieces together, you'd be confused. I had to reread that part twice before I got it. Overall, I enjoyed They Both Die In The End but probably not as much as I thought I would. But it was still an entertaining read and I do recommend you read it!

Il 5 settembre, poco dopo mezzanotte, il servizio Death-Cast contatta Mateo e Rufus per dar loro una cattiva notizia: moriranno nel corso della giornata. I due ragazzi non si conoscono ma, per diverse ragioni, entrambi cercano un amico per trascorrere il loro Ultimo Giorno. Esiste un’app per questo: si chiama Last-Friend ed è così che Mateo e Rufus si incontrano. Entrambi sanno che il tempo a loro disposizione sta per finire, ma non hanno nulla da perdere. Resta solo da vivere tutta una vita in un giorno.
A very special book!
I love the idea behind the story, but I felt the book dragged on a bit.
However, the ending won me over and I’m really glad I read it :)
