3.5Jennie in Consider Me was so funny so I was so looking to reading her story and find out how she gets together with Garrett. I will get my biggest issue with this book out the way first. Everyone knows what Carter is like, they know he overreacts and that is so ingrained in his personality that his reaction to finding out about his sister and one of his best friends should really not have been a shock to anyone.Did Carter overreact? Yes. Did he deserve to be blamed for the aftermath of him finding out? No. The way everyone knew, except for Emmett, was disgusting to me. They all knew and then blamed Carter for going off the deep end for being lied to. Not once did anyone tell Jennie and Garret to be honest, they just said it was a bad idea but continued the charade anyway. That whole reveal and the events after it annoyed me and Carter was made to apologise but no one else did and that to me really annoyed me. Yes I understand that Jennie felt like she was losing her brother and that broke her heart after losing their dad but she needed to take a large part of the blame and yet everyone around her coddled her and made it seem like it was all Carters fault.Now that is off my chest I can move on lol while I did enjoy this book and it had a lot of the qualities that made me laugh in the first book what it lacked was that spark that made me obsessed, I felt like this book was more character based than plot based, and while I don't mind that usually in this instance it mattered because the main characters just didn't scream main character energy to me, they shined more as side character than they did in this book that was focused on them. I very much still found this book funny but there just wasn't that little extra to make me love this book like I'd hoped, overall I would recommend this book but not as strongly as I would Consider Me
Even though I'm not finished with this series yet I already know it's all around a 5 star ✨ 👉🏼👈🏼 I'm absolutely loving the playing for keeps series, they are ✨sorta kinda long✨ but I've liked both of the first books!
